James Lickwar – Team Manager/Crew Chief

James is the team manager for Team Roadracingworld.com Suzuki, as well as the crew chief for Robertino Pietri. Lickwar is a software engineer by trade, and brings a calm and organized demeanor, along with a keen wit, to the hectic world of racing.

Lickwar, or “Lick” as he’s referred to by the crew, started racing with AFM in Northern California in 1993, then did WERA endurance racing and finally turned pro in 1998. During his pro career, James got on the podium in an AMA Pro Thunder race, but a nagging shoulder injury made him turn to the mechanical and tuning side of racing.

James has been involved as a mechanic with both Team Roadracingworld.com Suzuki and Team Hammer since 2004, first with Chris Ulrich and later with Vincent Haskovec. In addition, Lickwar has been involved with the Team Hammer Advanced Riding Schools, has written articles for motorcycle publications, and currently works almost exclusively for motorcycle-related businesses writing software.
